FAQ's
Q: Am I making a commitment by contacting you?
A: Absolutely not, contact us with any questions we have not answered here. It is important that both you and Lil Language Scholars have all our questions answered before moving forward in the application process.

Q: Do I have to have a degree in education?
A: A degree is definitely helpful but not necessary. You do need to have experience with young children. Experience comes in many forms: church school, camp counselor, day care teacher. If you can make learning fun for young children then you can teach them Spanish.

Q: Do I have to be fluent in Spanish or a native speaker?
A: You do not need to be a native speaker nor completely fluent. You need to be comfortable using your Spanish but a few years of high school or college Spanish is typically sufficient to keep up with the youngsters you will be teaching. If you want to brush up on your Spanish we can help you do that.

Q: Won’t children forget everything I teach them before they take it in elementary school?
A: No, you are exposing a child to a second language at the best time. They will store this knowledge in their long term memory and will be able to recall it with some practice down the road when they are offered formal school classes. It is also important to remember we are doing more than teaching Spanish. There are many cognitive benefits parents are looking for beyond the actual learning of the language.
The children will benefit from:
  • Increased cognitive abilities
  • Complex brain development
  • Improved listening
  • Improved English use
  • Language is best learned by age 10
  • Learning to take risks
  • Increasing their curiosity
  • Willingness to try new things

Q: Is there enough work in my area?
A: Yes, educating children is a profitable business all over the country. First, A business owner who meets the needs of their clients will always have enough work. We will train you to find and keep your new clients. Second, every year the number of elementary schools offering a second language is increasing. As this increases so does a parent’s desire to prepare their child for kindergarten.

Q: What is my next step?
