agosto lessons

by Paula Fortini on 08/09/15

This month the children will be learning more summer words, pets and even more animals. A few of the art projects you will see coming home are an ice cream cone (cono de helado) and a fish tank (pez), and we played animal games to practice the many animals they have learned. We also learned how to play red light, green light. This is great practice for remembering that colors go after the noun. Luz verde, luz rojo.

Also ask your child to sing the animal song or food song that we have been practicing.

As you prepare to return to school at the end of the month we will be reviewing school supply words. Ask them how to say these words as you are walking around stores.

Please remember not all our schools do the same lessons on the same week. All our teachers are trained to adapt the lessons to make sure we are meeting the review needs of the children in that group. Some groups move more quickly through our lessons and others need more review time.

If you have any questions about your child's progress or we can be of any assistance just email or call/text us 847.997.6438

This month the children will be learning more summer words, pets and other animals and Fourth of July words. A few of the art projects you will see coming home are a shell (concha) and a fish tank (pez), and a flag for the Fourth of July (bandera). We also reviewed the parts of the flag and what they represent.

Also ask your child to sing the animal song or food song that we have been practicing.

As you prepare for your Fourth of July see if your child can remember any of the food words that you might be eating that day. Or ask them to explain the parts of the flag as you see flags in the neighborhood.

Please remember not all our schools do the same lessons on the same week. All our teachers are trained to adapt the lessons to make sure we are meeting the review needs of the children in that group. Some groups move more quickly through our lessons and others need more review time.

This month the children will be learning shapes, spring and summer vocabulary and practicing the animal and family words. A few of the art projects you will see coming home are sandals (sandalias), a turtle (tortuga), and a tie for dad on Father's Day. On the sandalias and corbata your child will have shapes. We continue to work on the order of words in Spanish. You say triangulo rojo NOT red triangle. The kids know this but it is hard to remember so we teach it with shapes since shapes are really easy for them.

Also ask your child to sing the season song, the family song, or the shapes song that we have been practicing.

Don't forget to print your vocabulary from our parent page so you can practice at home. Please remember not all our schools do the same lessons on the same week. All our teachers are trained to adapt the lessons to make sure we are meeting the review needs of the children in that group.
